KidRobot bike in store pic's ... sorta

Kidrobot had a signing with artist Triston Eaton last week at the Miami store , here are a few of the pic's I found on their Flicker page that show the KR bike on display in the store .

TIGHT!

Old meets new , here are a few pic's of a custom project I'm currently working on , expect it to drop in the next few weeks.
I wanted to post these pic's to show off a typical Nemesis Project miter cut before the frame is welded .
Each and every joint / miter cut get's hand-finished by your truly , this might not be the fastest way to built a bike frame .
To us it's a matter of quality over quaintly , each joint / miter cut has to be perfect or it doesnt see production.
Enjoy the pic's

Ronnie Thomson Ride on Ride on !

It deeply saddens me to post this on the blog today , I just received news that L.H. Thomson founder Ronnie Thomson has passed away Saturday. I met Ronnie at Interbike many years ago and seeing him make the trip out of the Thomson booth to walk over and look at our bicycles made my day , he was always a great person to talk to when he had the chance . Our condolences go out to his family and the L.H. Thomson company in these hard times. Next time your out on your bike hammer that ride for Ronnie he would have wanted it that way !
Ride on, Ronnie Ride on!

Hello Kitty AR-15

I saw photos of this on the web a few weeks ago and I flipped out, it seems ART GUNS are now the new all over print hoodie .
Pictured above is the Hello Kitty AR-15 fully legal in all states , so run out and go buy your girl one !
The real info behind this wepon of choice for the teeny bopper crowd is posted below, please note Nemesis Project is not in the busness of customizing guns for Hello Kitty .

[ Text taken from Rifelgear.com ] So called "Assault Weapons Bans" such as the now expired 1994 Clinton ban and the one still in place in states such as California seek to ban rifles that our misguided legislators feel have no purpose in civilian hands. They identify "evil features" they can use to generically classify these "military style" weapons in sweeping terms. Of course these features, such as plastic pistol grips, barrel shrouds, and bayonet lugs have absolutely nothing to do with the firearms potential lethality in the real world and are merely cosmetic features. After all, it really doesn't matter what color the firearm is if it fires the same ammunition right? Well, in the "spirit" of the California Assault Weapon Ban I decided to do my best to alleviate the fears of my fellow citizens and gun-banning legislators when I put together a new AR-15 for my wife. Below is the result of my painstaking work to transform an Evil Black Rifle (EBR) into a Cute Pink RIfle (CPR). Introducing the Hello Kitty AR-15!

This rifle is 100% legal in California because it is based on an "off-list" lower receiver made by Stag Arms and has no evil features at all, instead featuring a fixed stock instead of the evil collapsible stock, a muzzle brake in place of the vile flash-hider, and a MonsterMan Grip instead of the heinous and malicious plastic pistol grip. The C Products magazine looks like a 30 round magazine body but is permanently modified to only allow 10 rounds.

Aston Gulf to Race Lemans in cars 007 and 009

One of the best-looking cars on the grid in motorsport just announced a pairing with one of the most storied racing sponsors ever. Gulf Racing has a long history racing at Le Mans, bedecked on some amazing machines like the Porsche 917, Ford GT40 and Audi R8. This year, the legen... wait for it... dary powder blue and orange replaces AM's trademark green on the sultry DBR9 for the factory team's GT1 efforts.

Aston Martin Racing will return to Le Mans in 2008 to defend its GT1 title in the distinctive blue and orange livery of Gulf Oil.

Two Aston Martin DBR9s will look to emulate Gulf's first victory at the 24 hour race 40 years on.

Alain Dujean, Gulf Oil vice president international, said: "This is arguably the most important year ever for Gulf in motorsport. The famous Gulf racing colours first tasted victory at Le Mans in 1968, so 2008 already had great significance for us, but for Gulf to have joined up with Aston Martin Racing for this year is fantastic - the coming together of two great automotive names, for what I hope will be a long and fruitful partnership."

David Richards, chairman of Aston Martin, said: "Endurance racing is engrained in the heritage of both Gulf and Aston Martin and we have also both been intrinsically linked through Le Mans for many decades. It was perhaps destined that, in the year we defend our GT1 title and Gulf celebrates the 40th anniversary of its win, we would finally race together at La Sarthe."

The two Aston Martin DBR9s for 2008 will be entered as numbers 007 and 009.

Nemesis Project x Kid Robot !

Well I guess I've been hinting at this long enought , but now that the blog trackosaurusrex somehow got their hands on the pre-relese pic's I sent to KidRobot i'll fill everyone in on the bike.
I recently had the pleasure of doing this colaberation bike with the folks over at Kid Robot As I have mentioned before , If I had my choice of clients to build custom bikes for KidRobot would be #1 on that list !
The Kid Robot X Nemesis Project bike pictured was built as a one off contemporary art piece to be shown at the Kid Robot store during Art Basel Miami Beach.
Art direction of this project was done by Chad Phillips of KR and overseen directly by Paul Budnitz owner and president of Kid Robot , Nemesis Project supplied KidRobot with the first of their new Track frames , built from a mix of Dedacciai , True-Temper and some vintage Tange tubes . The frame features Nemesis Project's new rear track bike dropout system designed specifically for messengers. This systems prevents the average street trool from stealing your wheels with any vice grip, pliers , channel lock's or crescent wrench . The Nemesis Project dropout is a deep pocketed dropout that with only accept a 15-mm deep socket for rear wheel removal ( unless your running allen bolts axle nut's then your kinda screwed anyways )
This bike was handbuilt and assembled 100% by Nemesis Project owner and frame builder Brad Hodges .

The bike is currently on disply at the Kid Robot Miami store located at 638 collins Ave.
This bike comes with a custom powdercoated U-lock W/color matched key's , color matched tool kit and custom one off KidRobot Valve stem caps all hand made by Brad Hodges .
List price for this one off art piece is $6,000
Contact KidRobot sales if you are intrested in aquiring this bicycle.

Mash S.F.

Mash S.F. is a film by Michael Martin and Gabe Morford
After seeing the trailer (postedabove) a few times on Youtube and seeing all the hype this film has generated in the "fixed gear" scene I had to grab myself a copy and check out what all the fuss was about.
Well I was able to finally get my hands on a copy last night wile I was in the city.
People always ask me "how do those messengers ride the hills in S.F. , I'd kill myself "
Mash S.F answers that question .. and a whole lot more.

After watching this film last night all I can say is HOLY SH!T , I've been riding S.F. my entire life and after seeing this movie I can honestly say these guy KILL IT on fixed gear's . this is an entirely different level of cycling the fluidity between man and bicycle .. it's just flst out amazing . To say these guys have "bike control" is putting is lightly .. you really have to pick yourself up a copy from their online store and see this masterpiece for yourself. The DVD also comes with a very cool 120 page full color behind the scenes book with exclusive photos and interviews.
